The Library

the stories your shelves have told
conceptual satisfaction through
the literature that you hold
you do not provide what i need today
a decent seat.
and the book i wanted.
already taken.
but you’re still my home away from home.
i will miss you in a month
when exams are over and i am gone
my sweet library, how i resent loving you so
all the voices in the quiet room
indicate my time to go
it’s not you i resent
but the people that love you too
i wish sometimes
it was only me and you
and i could talk as loud as i wanted
to myself
because you can’t listen
you can only show
the things i’m interested in
the things i need to know
oh textbook oh textbook
wherefore art thou textbook
somebody took you without putting you back
they just don’t give a…
